2019 Point In Time Count Volunteer Information

We are glad you are interested in signing up for the Orange County 2019 Point In Time count happening Wednesday, January 23 and Thursday, January 24, 2019! Below are the available volunteer positions. Check for a confirmation email within a few minutes of submitting. Make sure it doesn’t go to your spam folder, since email will be our primary way of contacting you.

IN THE FIELD

Field Surveyors
You will be part of a survey team of three to five, along with a team captain. You’ll be required to complete an application and virtual training.
Date: Wednesday, January 23 or Thursday, January 24
Morning Shift
Arrival Time: 4:15 AM
Shift Time: 5:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Checkout Time: 9:30 AM
Evening Shift
Arrival Time: 6:45 PM
Shift Time: 7:30 PM - 11:30 PM
Checkout Time: 12:00 AM

Team Captains
You will lead a team of three to five field surveyors to canvas a map area. You will be responsible for navigating the maps, knowing emergency protocols and assisting volunteers with accessing the survey on their phones. You’ll need to complete an application, virtual training and in-person training. Ideal Team Captains will be service provider professionals and experienced outreach workers.

AT THE DEPLOYMENT CENTERS

Host Lead
You’ll be located at a specific deployment center for your whole shift are responsible for your host team of 20 volunteers and should be the most knowledgeable about your location regarding emergency protocols, supply locations, timelines, and needs. You’ll be required to complete an application and virtual training.

Morning Shift: 3:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Evening Shift: 5:30 PM - 12:30 AM
Where: A deployment center in Anaheim, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Irvine or San Clemente

Host Team Member
You’ll be located at a specific deployment center for your whole shift and are responsible for setting or cleaning up, managing the check-in and/or check-out process, greeting guests and field support volunteers, supporting with food distribution to all volunteers, and writing thank-you cards. You’ll be required to complete an application and virtual training.

Morning Shift: 3:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Evening Shift: 6:00 PM - 12:30 AM
Where: A deployment center in Anaheim, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Irvine or San Clemente

A/V & Tech Support
You’ll be located at a specific deployment center for your whole shift and are responsible for setting up and taking down the presentation technology like screens, microphones, powerpoint, and will be the point person for troubleshooting any issues that should arise. You’ll be required to complete an application and virtual training.
